I have been reading all of your kind thoughts about Rae. My Mother and Father and I would like to say thank you so much. I would like to add my own personal tribute. In no way am I idealizing my sister or enlarging on her qualities. Throughout her life she was accomplished in every way; An academic high achiever, A deep thinker who loved discussing interesting ideas, Talented at cooking, arts and crafts, A graceful ballet dancer as a child, She possessed a beautiful voice and was a soulful singer. She was very pragmatic and practical, She was an advocate for women's rights and the rights of any oppressed or persecuted group. Above all of these and more importantly were her constant, selfless acts of kindness to help others. Her beautiful eyes like kaleidoscopes of blue colour were reflections of her deeply kind and compassionate nature. She was witty and funny at every opportunity. She was gentle natured and generous with everyone. She inspired me to be a better person. She was brave in her own life and she encouraged me to achieve my dreams and believe in "Why not?" instead of "Cannot". I am so grateful and lucky to have had her as my sister. I was blessed with kisses from this angel when I was born and her companionship brightened up my life. Here are some of her last treasured words to me ... "Try not to be too sad. Put your energy into those things that make you happy. We will be together in that place." "I will celebrate you living your life everyday and surrounding yourself with warmth and happiness."
